The Story Of The Bear
It was a clear mild Thursday. While I was
concentrating on my photography work our
little Pomeranian Dog, all 12 pounds of him,
went crazy, sounding like our house alarm.
I looked out on our deck and to my surprise I
found a full grown, and apparently hungry
Black Bear busy emptying our bird feeders
as he ate. He didn't damage anything, but
was certainly not going to leave any seeds.
While I was a bit uncomfortable, my initial
reaction was to just get him to leave, so
grabbing the first thing I could find, a pear my
mother in law had left on the table, I threw it
at him, hitting him about the head. He got a
bit startled, leaving the deck. Unknown to me
our little dog managed to get loose, and had
a time chasing the big guy about our yard. It
was a site to see.
My visitor returned several times over several
days, looking for the black sunflower seeds
to help fill his stomach. He was, or seemed
to be rather tame, yet hungry, not appearing
to want to hurt anyone or anything, but
looking for a quick and tasty meal. With each
visit, our dog had his fun chasing the Big Ole
Bear.
